We’re pleased you asked! Quite frankly, too many people die every day in the UK who could have potentially been saved by a well-trained first aider. Those around them don't know what to do in an emergency. Would you know what to do?
At Life Saving Training we provide you with simple, memorable ways to help you effectively deal with a range of first aid incidents. We start at the beginning and teach you what you need to know to help someone in need. Done training before and want to be stretched a little? No problem, we can do that too, so you’ll not be bored!
We don’t believe in baffling you with big words and telling you stories! What we do believe in is teaching you what you need to know to help someone in need. We prepare you for situations that arise in the real world and do it in an engaging and useful way.
We make learning interesting which helps you learn and remember the skills you need. Our courses are dynamic, so you’ll get lots of practice dealing with first aid incidents in our safe training environment. Practicing in this way helps make the skills you need automatic, so you’ll know what to do in a real first aid emergency.

Because we like to give our customers the option of saving some money!
As an accredited training centre with two different Awarding Organisations we offer regulated qualifications which many of our customers want. We also offer the same courses certificated by Life Saving Training – the main difference is the logo on the certificate. When not going through an Awarding Organisation, we adhere to the same stringent quality assurance processes and great service – simply check out our Google reviews to see what people say!
In addition, the Health and Safety Executive doesn’t say you have to have regulated qualifications but does say you need to carry out due diligence when choosing a training provider. To help with this, we’ve got a handy, completed Life Saving Training Due Diligence Checklist to save you time, which is also important!
It’s great you’re looking to book! Most of our courses can be booked securely online. If you know what you need, simply head to the course section of our online shop. Here you can view our availability and book private courses for up to 12 people at your premises and/or individual spaces on our open/public courses.
Once a booking online is made, you can either pay via PayPal or via bank transfer. If you require an invoice or receipt to accompany a bank transfer, no problem, just let us know in the booking notes. Alternatively, it’s possible to book via email and invoice – simply email us at info@lifesavingtraining.co.uk.
If you’re not sure what you need, a great place to start is to read our blog First Aid Needs Assessment Explained. This breaks down the guidance from the Health and Safety Executive so it’s much easier to get to grips with. There are a few variables to consider, like how many people are in your workplace, what risks exist where you work etc, which the blog goes into. If you’re still not sure what you need, we’re happy to offer some friendly advice and chat through your requirements.
Courses vary in length, but First Aid training to cover most eventualities in the workplace is a 2-day course. The first time ‘First Aid at Work’ is completed, it takes 3 days to do, but from then on if you keep on top of it, it’s only 2 days. There is also a 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course for very low risk environments. There’s not a shorter option to renew this 1-day course though, so every 3 years the full day needs to be completed. All our training courses are listed on our website under ‘Services’ in the main menu with details of what’s covered and their durations.
Most of our courses are valid for 3 years, except the ITC Advanced First Aid course which is valid for 2 years. Remember, the Health and Safety Executive strongly advise that half day annual refreshers are completed for First Aid. Hopefully you’ll not need to use your First Aid skills very often, and annual refreshers can safeguard against skill fade. Even though certificates are valid for 3 years, certificate holders do need to remain competent. Keeping on top of skills will better protect your business or organisation plus it’s a great way to spend a half day with your team, making sure you’re on top of your life saving game!
We run regular open courses for workplace First Aid in and around Newcastle. Currently, courses are regularly being run from a venue in North Shields which has ample free parking, good transport links and a reasonably priced café on site.
Our Outdoor First Aid courses during the lighter months of the year run at the fantastic Birkheads Wild site just south of Gateshead. It’s a forest school location, and the course is outdoors! Don’t worry, if the weather is less than perfect, there’s a parachute canopy for shelter and a cosy fire pit to sit round.
We can also run courses at your premises, and all prices listed on our website are valid for a 60-mile radius of the NE1 postcode. Outside of this area? Just get in touch!
Yes, absolutely! There are a few things to mention to make sure the training is the best possible experience for you/your team.
First Aid is a practical subject, so lots of floor space is ideal. Pairs of people will be working together at the same time, with one lying down on the floor and another kneeling beside them. Each pair will require a 2-metre squared area to work in.
Rooms without tables in are great, as tables just get in the way and mean people can’t see the demonstrations. If you’ve got presentation facilities like a wall mounted TV, projector and projector screen/white wall then that’s perfect. If these aren’t available, no problem, we’ll provide them.
Another consideration is access to the training room from the parking area. First Aid training requires a lot of equipment to be brought in, so ideally the room will be on ground level or can be accessed via a lift.
Absolutely! If you require an accredited course with a certificate from an Awarding Organisation, simply select our regulated qualification pricing option when browsing courses. We’re accredited by two different Awarding Organisations and have robust policies and procedures in place. We abide by these standards even when we’re not running regulated qualifications as we want our customers to be delighted every time!
