First Aid Tips: Pens, Pencils and Marker Pens!

Today’s top tip – pop something to write with in your First Aid kit so you can record vital signs and other important information. A pencil will work on waterproof paper in most weather, but a pen will write on the back of your nitrile gloves. A marker will be great for writing on a laminated casualty card – if you have one!

At Life Saving Training, we tend to carry a few different writing implements – depending on where we’ll be. If we’re out in the remote wilds of Northumberland, Scotland or in the Lake District, the marker is a useful addition. If we’re just out and about in Newcastle, Durham or another town or city in the north east, a pen or pencil might do just fine!
