PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

All newly qualified entrants to the early years workforce who have completed a Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualification on or after the 30th June 2016, must also have either a full 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate or the 6 Hour Emergency Paediatric First Aid certificate within three months of them starting work.

When carrying out a risk assessment for First Aid provision in a school, the Department for Education and Employment recommends that risks to pupils, visitors as well as employees should be considered. For a cost effective option, we can combine our 3 Day First Aid at Work qualification and any of our Paediatric First Aid courses - saving you time and money.

We deliver a range of Paediatric Child First Aid courses in Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and across the North East and beyond. Whether you work in a school or nursery, are a Childminder, baby-sitter or you volunteer with children - we’ve got a range of First Aid courses to keep children safe and you compliant. We work with a variety of schools to help ensure they are compliant with the First Aid requirements and have the skills and confidence to help keep children, staff and visitors safe.

We are a trusted source of information to help schools and education establishments make the most of their budgets. For example, we help schools access Automated External Defibrillators (AED)s through the NHS Supply Chain to save money on essential life saving equipment and consumables.

12 Hour Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Qualification (meets Ofsted requirements - RQF)

Our 12 Hour Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification meets Ofsted requirements for those working in schools, nurseries and early years settings. This Paediatric First Aid course meets the criteria set out in Annex A of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) document.

To ensure the safety of children, the EYFS document stipulates people with this 12 Hour Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present and must accompany children on outings. Anyone who may, at any time, be left alone with children should complete this course.

Childminders and any assistants who might be in sole charge of children for any period of time, must hold this 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid certificate. The EYFS document clearly states that providers should take into account the number of children, staff and layout of the premises to ensure a Paediatric First Aider is able to respond to emergencies quickly.

This 12 Hour Paediatric First Aid qualification prepares you to look after children, from immediate life saving First Aid to recognising signs and symptoms and management of illness.

What our customers say

“This course was really informative and relative to my job role. The guy who delivered it was really knowledgable and happy to answer everyone’s questions. I’ve been on many similar courses over the years and this was by far one of the best. I would definitely recommend these guys at our schools for staff courses in the future”.

Hayley G, Child Minder

“The course has a very good balance of practical and theory and knowledge was tested in very non threatening ways! Thanks!”

Clive W, Caedmon Primary School

“My main reason for attending this course was the arrival of my first grandchild and the realisation that if God forbid I was faced with an emergency situation I would be totally clueless and unable to help my grandchild. Thanks to the excellent training I was given I now feel confident that not only could I help my grandson but I could also give emergency life saving aid to any child or adult. I would recommend this course to everyone. To all mothers, fathers and grandparents please invest in this course it could save someone's life who is very precious to you.”
